IQM’s Co-CEO and Co-founder, Dr Jan Goetz, will be a featured speaker at the AI for Good Startup Accelerator Program 2025 during the AI for Good Global Summit from 8 to 11 July in Geneva, Switzerland.
The summit is timely as the United Nations declared 2025 as the International Year of Quantum, celebrating 100 years since the initial development of quantum science and highlighting its growing impact around the world.
Goetz’s participation underscores IQM’s commitment to advance quantum computing and AI, which is aimed at using AI to accelerate innovation around quantum computing. The company believes it will help develop the cutting edge of quantum computers faster than the market.
In addition, the company will leverage AI to execute its announced development roadmap towards fault-tolerant quantum systems featuring dozens to hundreds of highly performant logical qubits by the early 2030s.
To untap the market potential of new AI use cases, IQM is systematically exploring the landscape of quantum AI, evaluating the most promising algorithms through proof-of-concept implementations in early-stage use cases.
At the summit on 9th July, Goetz, who is a renowned quantum physicist, will highlight the unique challenges and opportunities involved in bringing deeptech innovations—scientific and engineering breakthroughs with high technical complexity—to market.
While pparticipants will learn how robust innovation ecosystems play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the lab and commercial viability, his presentation will also cover key elements of successful ecosystem building, including collaboration between academia, startups, corporates, investors, and government bodies.
Through case studies and strategic frameworks, Goetz will share insights into how to scale deeptech ventures, navigate long development timelines, and attract the right stakeholders to foster sustainable innovation.
The summit is expected to welcome 10,000 in-person participants, including global leaders, ambassadors, ministers, C-level industry, NGOs, top academics, media, and civil society, along with more than 50,000 members of the AI for Good community online, to demonstrate how AI and robotics can contribute to global progress in areas such as food security, climate action, road safety and healthcare.
The summit will also feature talks from global thought leaders and more than 150 demonstrations of state-of-the-art AI and robotics solutions with the potential to scale internationally and deliver meaningful impact on global challenges, powered by the engagement of the AI for Good community.
Speakers include the “Godfathers of AI” Geoffrey Hinton, Yann LeCun, and Yoshua Bengio, as well as leading voices such as H.E. Alar Karis, President of the Republic of Estonia, Meredith Whittaker, will.i.am, artist and tech entrepreneur (remote or in person), President of the Signal Foundation, Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, and Kate Kallot, Founder and CEO of Amini. They will be joined by over 100 policymakers and heads of UN agencies, underscoring the growing commitment of global leaders to advancing ethical, human-centered AI.
As the United Nations (UN) platform for global and inclusive dialogue on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the summit is organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with over 50 UN agencies and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland.
